Two Steps Forwards…

… and one step back.

The disadvantage of resolving to be good and always pay back your credit card balance in full every month is what happened today: an unexpected expense for which the planned resources never quite materialised.  Huge balance still on card when full payment comes out of bank account to settle account in full.  Account now hugely in red and frozen.
Ouch.

I realise that I have taken far too much of my financial activities on faith.  I have read before about the value of doing everything with cash instead of charging it.  I think that upon return from holiday, this is a tactic I shall be trying out -

• Decide on a budget for everything for one week.
• Take out exactly that amount on Monday.
• Eat beans if it runs out before following Monday.

I’ve been slacking.  Time to start cutting back and generating some income again.
